Alpine Group Elevates Alison Graab to Principal, Strengthening Transportation and Infrastructure Expertise

In Promoting Graab, Alpine Recognizes her Policy Accomplishments and Exceptional Experience Guiding Clients During Pivotal Legislative Moments

Washington, D.C. – The Alpine Group – a bipartisan, bicameral consulting firm in Washington, D.C. – announced today the promotion of Alison Graab to Principal from Senior Vice President. A recognized leader in transportation and infrastructure policy, Graab brings her legislative and lobbying experience to clients every day, enhancing Alpine’s ability to provide strategic guidance for clients navigating complex policy and regulatory environments. As a Principal, Graab will help shape the firm’s strategic direction and future growth, helping guide Alpine’s long-term vision and impact across the policy landscape while advising clients and driving policy change.

“Alison is one of the most highly regarded lobbyists in her industry, and her leadership is instrumental in guiding both behind the scenes as well as leading coalitions on the national stage,” said Keenan Austin Reed, CEO and Managing Principal of The Alpine Group. “Clients rely on advisors who can provide steady guidance, generate opportunities, and translate complex policy topics, and Alison has consistently done that at the highest level and at the most consequential moments. We are thrilled to welcome her to our firm’s senior ranks.”

A transportation power player, Graab joined Alpine Group in 2022 from the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations, where she served as clerk and staff director for the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD). In that role, she oversaw more than $160 billion in budgetary resources annually and worked with Senate and Committee leadership.

“Supporting our clients as they drive transformational change is the most rewarding part of my work at Alpine, and I am very proud to help contribute to their success.” Graab said. “Whether they are delivering critical services, launching innovative products, or reshaping industries, I look forward to continuing my work to ensure our clients’ perspectives help policymakers in advancing legislation that keeps the U.S. at the forefront of innovation and economic competitiveness.”

Prior to her work on the Appropriations Committee, Graab served on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, where among other roles she served as policy director for the Surface Transportation and Oceans Subcommittees. She began her career practicing law in Washington representing clients in energy and environmental matters and then served as an attorney for the Surface Transportation Board in Washington, D.C., drafting rules and decisions in formal proceedings before the agency.

Graab holds a law degree from William & Mary and degrees in Earth and Atmospheric Science and International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
