Top Washington Lobbying Firm Grows, Adding Seasoned U.S. House Floor Operations Advisor;
Hoyer Praises Rowe’s “Indispensable Political Judgment”
Washington, D.C. –– The Alpine Group – a bipartisan, bicameral consulting firm in Washington, D.C. – announced today that Deborah Rowe has joined the company as Policy Director. A veteran Capitol Hill advisor, she arrives after nearly ten years with the leadership offices of Congressman Steny H. Hoyer, the longtime Democratic Leader.
Starting in Rep. Hoyer’s office in 2014 and eventually rising to become his senior floor advisor, Rowe played an instrumental role in managing the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. She helped the chamber pass crucial, transformative pieces of legislation including the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, and the Honoring Our PACT Act.
“I congratulate my dear friend and trusted advisor, Deborah Rowe, as she moves on to her next opportunity after serving on my staff for nearly a decade, Deborah was vital to securing each of these groundbreaking laws,” said Rep. Steny H. Hoyer. “She also contributed to getting over 450 overwhelmingly bipartisan suspension bills through the House. I know that her new colleagues will appreciate her insight and dedication just as I have."
“Our clients have access to experts with hard-won, hands-on experience earned at the highest levels of government, and Deborah Rowe has those skills in abundance,” said Les Spivey, CEO and Managing Principal of the Alpine Group. “She knows the ins and outs of the congressional and legislative process like few others. And that knowledge will be incredibly consequential in an era of divided government, when any legislative victories or vehicles will need to be carefully built and balanced. We know that our clients and partners will benefit greatly from her deep experience in Congress.”
Hoyer continued, “Deborah demonstrated her strong character, keen intellect, and indispensable political judgement on many occasions. From contributing to Whip operations and Member Services to serving as my Senior Floor Advisor, she has cultivated deep relationships with House Members and their staff on both sides of the aisle. I will always admire her talent for building consensus between Democrats and Republicans, her invaluable understanding of the House's institutional nuances, and the strong work ethic she brought to every role. I look forward to seeing all that Deborah will accomplish in the years ahead.”
“I’m honored to join the Alpine Group, where I can continue to make a difference by applying my experience in Washington for our clients,” said Deborah Rowe. “I’m passionate about my work in politics and government, and I have been fortunate to be able to contribute to making policy ideas become laws that help the American people. I am excited to continue that work with Alpine.”
Rowe started with Rep. Hoyer in 2014 as a staff assistant. She rose through his office, serving as his whip coordinator and then senior floor advisor. Prior to her time in Congress, Rowe graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Long Beach, and then she worked in public affairs for The Walt Disney Company
